First broadcast in 1963, Doctor Who is the quintessential British sci-fi series. Following the travels of The Doctor, a Time Lord from the planet of Gallifrey, Doctor Who introduced audiences to the concept of regeneration and scare scores of children with the Daleks, Cybermen and more recently the farting Slitheen.
